From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.
Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the warrior group is for players who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their position as key figures in House Halovar could assist the team access places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter vowed a life debt to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
